Heraldic Artist,Calligrapher and Illuminator. Clare studied at the Reigate School of Art and Design from 1984, graduating 1986 with Anthony and Margaret Wood and Gerald Mynott. Worked firstly with Dr Patrick Barden in his Alloa studio painting flags and banners, and in November 1989 (to date) became one of the freelance heraldic artists and calligraphers in the Court of the Lord Lyon in Edinburgh.
Produces b/w drawings and colour paintings of heraldic designs/ Letters Patents/ Matriculations on calfskin vellum, watercolour paper and artboard; original calligraphy and welcomes commissions for handpainted illuminated initials with floral designs and heraldic beasts, including Palladium and 23c gold leaf.
