Clunie Fretton ASHA

Clunie Fretton, carver, gilder and letter cutter, is the first winner of the Anthony and Margaret Wood Marketing Bursary of the Society of Heraldic Arts.

Clunie holds the coveted Diploma in Ornamental Woodcarving and Gilding from City & Guilds of London Art School where she also won the Taylor Pierce Drawing Prize for Carving and Conservation. Appointed the Chosen Carver for the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers (the arms illustrated with this profile honour a past master) she went on to join the faculty of the School as the Carving Fellow. Working from her studio in Hampshire, she has a flourishing practice in carving and restoration. In 2016 she was selected to represent the Society at the XXXII International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Studies.
