During June-September 2018, in Vézelay Viollet-le-Duc museum, there was an unusual exhibition of a unique serie of 70 large heraldic standards (cm 160x110). In 2019-2020, it will continue in Villefranche-sur-Mer, Villandry etc. The coats of arms, oil painted on damask or thick cotton, are all philological and belonged to families that built monasteries, castles and bridges along the historical Way of St.James, like Montmorency, Vergy, des Baux, counts of Toulouse, kings of Navarra, Teles, Vasconcelos, Braganza… A rare journey through the sometimes arcane symbols of heraldry.
